RubyKaigi 2026 is an international Ruby conference that will take place in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan from April 22nd to 24th 2026, and we're looking for speakers!

Guidelines

  • RubyKaigi is a technical conference about programming language Ruby. We welcome proposals from open source software developers who work on Ruby language implementations, its libraries, and its ecosystem.

  • Taking a look at "Past Kaigis" (2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021-takeout, 2020-takeout, 2020 (cancelled), 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013) that are linked from https://rubykaigi.org/2026/past_kaigis/ should give you an idea of the taste of this event.

  • The time slot for your talk is planned to be 30 minutes.

  • Your talk can be given in either English (recommended) or Japanese. All Japanese talks will be simultaneously interpreted to English for the audience through headsets.

  • Speakers are required to attend the in-person event in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Note that we're not going to provide a scheme for remote talk or pre-recorded video.

  • The CFP form will remain open until January 11th in Japan Standard Time.

  • You need a GitHub and/or Twitter account to submit your proposal via this submission form.

  • We recommend you to submit your proposal early. The earlier you submit, the better the chance that your CFP will be reviewed and that you will get online feedback from the reviewers.

  • We require all selected talks to comply wholly with our Anti-Harassment Policy.

About the conference ticket

  • Accepted speakers will get free admission to the conference / the official party.

  • Even in case your talk is not accepted, you will be automatically eligible to buy a RubyKaigi ticket at the "Super Early Bird" price if you have submitted a proposal.
